With emphasis on diet, peak performance physical training, and powerful mindset development you will break away from your familiar routines and “shock” your body to new levels of power and athletic achievement you’ve never experienced. What To Expect

As with every Base Camp program, the core emphasis for The Lifetime Best Base Camp is built around The Six Handholds for Extraordinary Health. We will apply these principles to your training approach. Whatever you are doing that is working will be amplified – whatever you aren’t doing will be corrected – and whatever is missing will be added!  We will build your training and focus around optimum balance, immediate and long term success, and championship performance.

Your program is your program, so your experience is designed specifically around your current capabilities, short and long term goals, and resources that you will be returning to once you leave Base Camp.  The Lifetime Best Base Camp serves as a catalyst, a motivator, and a confidence building experience that you will look back on as a turning point in your competitive drive.

Embedded in and integral to the success of The Lifetime Best Base Camp experience is the meal plan. The quality of your nutritional support is foundational to your overall performance as well as your ability to sustain intense training.  You can’t get around it: how well we perform is directly related to what we eat.  At Lifetime Best Base Camp you will be introduced to what we call the Retro Raw Diet (learn more about the diet, click here!).  Delicious, satisfying menus are carefully planned and loaded with locally grown fruit, vegetables, meats, eggs, and dairy. (Any personal preferences or limitations are of course considered.) We will teach you fundamentals for making good food choices so that you can maintain good habits and retain your competitive edge.  We will also help you define appropriate supplementation and performance nutrition to accelerate the impact of good, basic meals.  A promise: you go hungry, and you’ll feel immediate impact!

Of course, also integral to The Lifetime Best Base Camp experience is your physical training program.  We will incorporate routines your are accustomed to while challenging you with new approaches to strength building and performance development. We will also introduce you to amazingly effective Functional Fitness Exercises in our trademark outdoor Raw Jungle Gym.  Focusing on total body movements done primarily with your own body weight or using our innovative jungle adaptations, you will see fast improvements that are rarely achieved in a “normal” gym. But we don’t leave out common gym exercises either! Coach Kieba has decades of experience training body builders and is known for innovative gym workouts loaded with variety and challenge; all done in our rustic – but very effective – on site gym. Whether you are a sprinter or an endurance athlete, our approach will set a new bar on “what works” in your training plan.

In addition, we are strong believers in the “power of water” as an accelerator for every athlete.  Regardless of your swimming ability, we will introduce you to ways to use water (in both the swimming pool and ocean) to supplement your training.  Whether you are already a great swimmer – or petrified of the water, Kumu Steve is a world-class coach and is assured to take you to your next level whatever it is.

If you are seeking world-class performance in swimming or as as a triathlete, our pool and ocean work takes on an even more integral focus and Kumu Steve will introduce you to secrets of Olympic caliber swimmers. As well, the wonderfully consistent climate and training environment on the Big Island is perfect for cyclists, runners and triathletes. And – we have challenges waiting that you’ve not even thought of!

Finally, your program would not be complete without a healthy dose of Rest, Recovery and Mindset sessions to “Reboot” and “Re-focus” your goals and champion thinking.  Ample time will be spent learning how to embed a winning mindset and iron-tough will.  You will spend time with Kumu Steve on his famous, introspective “Lava Walk” visiting your goals, reflection on and fine tuning your “training thinking” , and blasting away limiting beliefs about competition or your performance potential.  Meanwhile you will have an array of options for downtime to indulge in what just isn’t available anywhere else in the world. Explore waterfalls, volcanoes, a coffee plantation, or one of the dozens of “secret” hideaways we can show you – there is excitement around every corner. Need a massage? Done. What to learn something new?  Hit it with surfing, ocean kayaking, paddle boarding or fishing.  Beaches, scenery, fresh air and new adventures of all kinds await.  Whatever your desire – just ask.

How It Works

Designing your Lifetime Best Base Camp experience is simple:

Step 1 – Arrange for a discussion with Coach Kieba or Kumu Steve.  We’ll help you make sure that The Lifetime Best Base Camp is your best choice and assure that all your questions are answered so that you know you are making the best decision of a lifetime. We’ll discuss logistics, costs, details and – of course – your goals for your experience.

Step 2 – Fill out the Camper Survey and other forms your Coach directs you to and arrange to pay your deposit.  The survey information is held completely private between you and your Coach and will be used to construct your ultimate Lifetime Best experience. Your deposit of course reserves your spot at Base Camp and gets the wheels in motion for our preparation for your stay. [Note: If you are College age or younger, we will invite conversations with your parents and coaches to help plan your experience.]

Step 3 – Schedule your flight and start packing!

How Much Is It and What To Do Next

We don’t play games with pricing at Base Camp so you will know exactly how much your program will cost before you say yes. Nothing is hidden and nothing is a surprise extra.  Variables include your length of stay and the options you elect to choose for activities.  As an average, Campers staying with us a week can expect their program fee to be between $2500 and $3500.
